Breath of Dance is a new ensemble which has grown out of Nicola Gerrard’s business ‘High Legh Flutes’ She is a professional flautist based in the North West and has been contributing towards the musical life of the area for many years. Having trained at the Royal Northern College of Music, she has performed internationally as part of the New English Orchestra and has been part of BBC Radio 4’s Daytime Daily Service Programme.

It is a new collaboration with her daughter, Hannah Gerrard, a professional dancer and Emma Jackson, a choreographer.  ‘Breath of Dance’ brings stories to life through music and dance with Nicola performing on different flutes and narrating, whilst Hannah tells the story through dance. Our most recent project is ‘Dilys’ Adventures From the Garden to the Cross’ which tells the Easter story for children.

As well as providing children’s stories through music and dance we also present beautiful atmospheric musical presentations both indoors and outdoors for adults and children. We present both solo instrumental pieces, presentations with flute and dance together and improvised performances in many different spaces including chapels, churches, schools and gardens.

We would love to bring some of our performances to you, so that you too can enjoy the wonder of live music and dance in your environment.

If you are interested in booking us for your venue then please contact us through our contact page or alternatively message us on our Facebook or Instagram pages.
